Hailing from Bristol, UK, Koan Sound are the answer for anyone who is in the least bit jaded or sick of what is being produced by mainstream dubstep and electronic acts in general. A very fresh take on a familiar vibe, they bring a lot of really great sounds to the table. Their latest ep, Funk Blaster is extremely funky in nature, with a hip-hop kind of vibe, while still being very strongly rooted in electronica. Somewhat hard to define as a specific genre, they have created a sound that is all their own, yet still hits close to home. Their songs come from a wide variety of bpms and are very easy on the ears. With releases from many well known labels, including Inspected (Inspector Dubplate) and Mad Decent, they are definitely a group to keep very close watch on. The first track, Meanwhile, In The Future, is the track from the EP that the group chose to feature, allowing fans to listen to the whole thing before it's release. Very deep and heavy on the distortion, it features an awesome drum pattern that is really fun to groove to.

The second track is an awesome Drumstep remix of Talk Box by monster producer Kill The Noise. Bringing the deep, metal-heavy, distortion-laden sounds, he absolutely smashed this one. You can keep up with him on Soundcloud and Facebook, and I suggest you do.
