We All Need Tutorials #2 - How to Set Up Cthulhu

Our good friend New Hero started a series of music production tutorials on youtube called "We All Need Tutorials", aiming mainly on using great free plugins and other free production tools for FL. We are proud to be part of it, as New Hero is a master in FL and also a pretty funny dude :D.

This week's tutorial is about Cthulhu.

What is Cthulhu?

Cthulhu is two MIDI FX modules combined into one plug-in:

Chords Module - One Note Becomes Many

Cthulhu is firstly a chord memorizer and player, allowing you to experiment with creating and reworking chord progressions with single-note presses.
Included are over 150 factory chord presets allowing for a near-unlimited amount of possible musical-sounding chord progressions.
Import MIDI or 'record' chords straight in, Cthulhu is able to analyze the chords you play and allow for various sorting options (Circle of 5ths, Chromatic, low note, etc) allowing for easy access over your chords!

Arp Module - Transform your chords in new ways.

The other half of Cthulhu is a unique pattern-based arpeggiator, allowing incoming notes or chords to be manipulated in various rhythmic ways. The 8 tabs of the stepsequencer allow you to completely reshape the incoming MIDI notes, even a single note fed into the arp can become a unique and rhythmic riff! Even if you have other arpeggio software plug-ins, Cthulhu's arp is unique and powerful with advanced features such as chord-arpeggio mode, ties, duration / velocity sequencing, intelligent transpose, harmony, and more! Every tab of the sequencer can operate on its own length, allowing for evolving polymetric arpeggios. From simple to complex, from chaotic to creating precise arpeggio you imagine in your head!

Since the rise of the Twerk music trend, Moombahton kinda came back (was it really gone?) since the BPM is almost the same, I noticed more and more producers blending the 2 genres but still, there's not enough beat makers doing it. Moombah is still staying low profile even if it is so effective in a DJ set with a proper crowd! This playlist pretty much features some of the pioneers of Moombahton music, producers like Sol Selectas, Schlachthofbronx, Sabo, Nadastrom, Jon Kwest, Munchi, Mendez and Ostblockschlampen have been representing that 110BPM since the beginning! [TRAP] Riff Raff - Rose Gold Stripper Pole (TheCasaBrothers Remix)

When I first heard the original, I immediately checked to see who the hell the producer was. The original blew my mind as it was. The somewhat funny vocal snippet that you won't forget "Fuma Marijuana" (Smoke weed), the twerk influences on the beat, and the fact that it still had that hard trap style to it made me fall in love with it, but when TheCasaBrothers sent me their remix, I knew I found a new favorite version. Their remix plays with the vocal snippet, keeps that hard trap influences, but still changes it in a way that'll make people go crazy at shows. And of course, as is routine for TheCasaBrothers (because they love us so) it's out for free! Go cop this amazing remix ASAP! And remember, "Fuma, fuma, fuma, fuma, fuma marijuana" (if you're into that, you know, we're not saying you should or shouldn't…)

Major Lazer – Aerosol Can (feat. Pharrell Williams) [NEW EP APOCALYPSE SOON]

Major Lazer dropped their first single off of their upcoming Apocalypse Soon EP with one of the hottest star at the moment, Pharrell Williams. "Aerosol Can" has a pretty minimalistic instrumental but Pharrell kills it with a mad flow as usual. Can't help thinking that Pusha T and Malice would have made it even better.
