Best of [MOOMBAH] New Jon Kwest, Munchi, Schlachthofbronx, Sabo, Nadastrom, Mendez and More! [Week 08]

Since the rise of the Twerk music trend, Moombahton kinda came back (was it really gone?) since the BPM is almost the same, I noticed more and more producers blending the 2 genres but still, there's not enough beat makers doing it. Moombah is still staying low profile even if it is so effective in a DJ set with a proper crowd! This playlist pretty much features some of the pioneers of Moombahton music, producers like Sol Selectas, Schlachthofbronx, Sabo, Nadastrom, Jon Kwest, Munchi, Mendez and Ostblockschlampen have been representing that 110BPM since the beginning! Don't expect just your typical Moombahton though, the freebies in this playlist goes from old school to nu school, Glitch Hop and some very Hip Hop influenced vibes, enjoy the free music and remember to share the good stuff!

Internationally renowned as a sound classified by tremendous feats in noise and bass, UK DJ/producer and moombahton devotee Ginger Shinobi's Moombahdeep Volume 2 compilation celebrates the latest in a new dimension - deep house and techno trending moombah-vibes. In a ponderous and amazing seventeen tracks, Shinobi continues where Volume 1's exploratory success left off. A new style calls for new top creative forces - the location and promotion of their heavy styles is truly one of the great successes of this compilation series.

Producer Johnny T's "Metal Moombahton" is eight searing minutes of introspective joy. The depth of the cut isn't the pleasure as much as it is the style, heavy guitars and a pulse-pounding break taking a party into a wild, strange vibe. Banginclude's refix of Raga Todi's "Vica" takes the track's bhangra-trending elements and weaves them under the spell of the dembow riddim for the compilation's most ear-worming work. Trance and techno's bass-driven bastard child is a sexy stunner, indeed. UK's TRI-BAL places two tracks, the most intriguing being a take on Pixel and Slimfy D's grime-laden rap attack "Belly of the Beast," which is turned into a progressive minimalist's dream. Dope lyrics ride the break and while stripped down to its essence, the moombahton vibe allows the track's bassline to kick like a mule. Like all of the sounds on the compilation, it makes for a unique and seductive dance floor groove. Rising auteurs including OktoRed, Kung Fu Theory, ICS and a plethora more excel on easily the most unified vision of moombahton's deeper progression into altering international dance's mainstream expectation.

The Winter of Moombahton 2012: Winter Moombah Conference [MOOMBAHTON]

Free Moombahton comp from Jon Kwest

The fact that Justin Bieber is allegedly featuring dubstep on his new album provides a cloudless view of the inevitable backlash sitting, arms-crossed and biding it's time on the not so distant horizon. So it's easy to image the ever creeping sound of Moombahton, a cross between Dutch house and reggaeton which emerged from the imagination of Dave Nada in 2009, in a Rocky training montage as it prepares for its shot at the crown.

Since it's WMC time, we have an exclusive 'Winter Moombah Conference' compilation from DC-based Jon Kwest. With Kwest picking out 15 tracks from key-players like Pickster & Melo, Cam Jus, Boyfriend and Apt One, plus a handful of his own productions, it's an eye-opener to the breadth of the sound which takes in dubstep, Latin cumbia, soul, bashment and hip-hop, and is curently making it's way into Europe from its US roots. So go slow and get low. -DJMAG

Pickster Presents: The Rise Of Moombahton "Today We Were Kings" [MOOMBAHTON]

Pickster & Mixmag Magazine present:

The Rise of Moombahton “Today We Were Kings”

Tradition and family run deep in the Moombahton scene. The seasonal Moombahton compilations started by Munchi in the Summer of 2010 kicked off a tradition. As the seasons change a different Moombahtonista curates a compilation that takes a snap shot of the scene and the producers making noise at that time. David Heartbreak followed with the Fall Of Moombahton in 2010, DJ Melo with the Winter Of Moombahton in 2010, Lightning Eyez with the Spring Of Moombahton in 2011, and Munchi with Verano Del Moombahton in the summer of 2011. Pickster from Phoenix, Arizona has taken the baton and put together the Fall compilation for 2011.

The Rise Of Moombahton “Today We Were Kings”. Everybody is a king or queen for at least one day in their own world. Whether you’re on top of the game or just coming up and hitting that first milestone, were all kings or queens for a day. With that said, the comp showcases some OG Moombahtonistas that have been there from the beginning, as well as some young up and comers. Pickster, not feeling the name The Fall Of Moombahton, instead called the Fall compilation The Rise Of Moombahton, feeling it to be a better fit for this rising genre.

Huge free moombahton compilation! For any Moombah fan or DJ this is a must have imo. You get 19 quality tracks for free from artists like :Dface, ETC!ETC!, Sluggo, Pickster, Bro Safari, Jamrock and many others! Get this now! Essential Moombahton!
