[TRANCE/BIGROOM] The Chronicles Of New Hero 2 [Preview]

Here it is! The very first track (Prologue) of the new album is available for streaming. The reactions are already amazing, and this is only the prologue! Personally I've heard the full thing and this is taking Trance music to a different level. New Hero's sound is becoming more and more distinct, you truly discover his musical identity. He is part of the new wave of Trance producers using a lot of elements from other EDM genres like Big Room, 110BPM & more.  The Chronicles of New Hero 2 will give you that festival feeling, sometimes more melodic and sometimes straight hands up in the air big room music. It will be released later this summer, prepare for some major sounds.

Orias
In demonology, Orias (also spelled Oriax) is a Great Marquis of Hell, and has thirty legions of demons under his command. He knows and teaches the virtues of the stars and the mansions of the planets (the influence of each planet depending on the astrological sign in which it is in a specific moment and the influence of that sign on an individual depending on how the zodiac was configured at the moment of his/her birth or at the moment of asking a question to the astrologist); he also gives dignities, prelacies, and the favour of friends and foes, and can metamorphose a man into any shape.

Midweek Trap and Bass madness is here! A lot of festival trap in this one, remixes of current House and Hardstyle songs into trapstyle bangers and some old school tracks remixed with a 2013 Trap flavor, if you thought "Pjanoo" was the one I talked about you were wrong, by old school I meant "Ace of Bass" old school, that's much much "back in da days". You will find a few others gems in this 11 free song compilation. I have another Trap feature almost ready, it will drop in the following days, more Hip Hop/Vocal Trap though, gangsta s**t! Hope you enjoy!

This bootleg is a more DJ friendly version of the track and it's free download. Big ups to SAV for this one, always high quality music!

Maarten Vorwerk aka The man behind Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Van Hage, Yves V & many more!

While I was composing my previous article about some big names in the music industry using young producers' bootlegs of their songs as "inspiration" to create a new remix which is essentially the same and publish it (which I would like to invite you to read if you didn't already), I stumbled upon very interesting information about a "famous" ghostproducer from the Netherlands.

Do you know the name Maarten Vorwerk? Probably not, he is the guy in the studio producing the latest house music songs you hear on the radio or the ones your favorite DJ plays while you think the guy jumping up and down on stage is the one that created it. Some artists like Benny Benassi, don't hide the fact that his brother/cousin is the one producing and he is the "dj", however, others don't want people to know they hire people to produce for them, David Guetta for example. Just look at his latest album "Nothing But the Beat" and look at how many writers are in the credits. Joachim Garraud also admitted in an interview with Ready2Move.be that he was behind some of David Guetta's productions and he said: "David is not a musician, [he] is not a technician, so he comes over with ideas, ideas samples, textures and sounds, etc., after they performs together, and it is true that it is I who am behind the machines, because they are my machines and my studio." Enough Guetta, back to our hero "Maarten Vorwerk".

[Let's make something clear right away, I never say/said explicitly "Maarten Vorwerk" ghostproduced this or this track, he might have been "helping" or "collaborating" with the artists, however I do believe that he is the man behind these titles whether or not it is advertised that way but this is my opinion and the result of the digging I've done on the interwebz]

We asked Maarten for an interview with us and (no surprise there!) he said no :'(

Here's what he is behind (at least what I found):

He is in the credits as a composer for
Swedish House Mafia's album "Until Now" [source]
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Wakanda [Source] [Extra Source]
Sandro Silva & Quintino - Epic [Source]
Quintino - We Gonna Rock [Source]
Yves V, Felguk - WOW (Original Mix)[Source]
Yves V - Arkadia (Original Mix) [Source]
Jacob Van Hage & Oliver Heldens - Thumper (Original Mix) [Source]
Jacob van Hage ‎– Spotfire Written-By, Composed By – M. Vorwerk [Source]
Ruthless - Gers [Source]

Even Cloud9 mentions Maarten as being one of their ghostproducers:
"Our ghost producer Maarten Vorwerk was involved in Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s ‘Wakanda’, which premiered during the final tour from Swedish House Mafia in 2012." [Source] and his "job" on his twitter account clearly says "Ghost Producer. Professor in Gadgets. Shrimp & Vodka Lover". Need more facts/proof?

I would like to invite you to follow Maarten on Twitter to stay up to date with his (ghost)productions https://twitter.com/MaartenVorwerk

You want to know more about ghostproducing?

"A TranceAddict.com forum post attempted to list the artists who do this. The most notable, out of those listed include Tiesto, Dave Dresden of Gabriel & Dresden, Paul Oakenfold (who, apparently, can’t even write a melody), Sasha, and Paul Van Dyk. But because ghost producing hasn’t been confirmed for any of these performers, the statements don’t go beyond rumors." -crossfdr.com

Here's another interesting article on Mixmag

Thanks for reading! I would be pleased to have your feedback and opinions about this subject, either in the comments under this post or on our facebook page.

[TRAP] HavocNdeed - Bass4yaface (K Theory Remix)

I have to say K Theory is one of my favorite "underground" artists, I have never, not even one time, been disappointed by them. Sometimes they go into straight Hip Hop, sometimes more electronica or Trap, they are masters at creating bass music! They dropped this free download less than 30 minutes ago. K Theory is a band we have been supporting for a long time and we are not planning to stop any time soon. Much respect and love for these guys!

Letter to Avicii from John Askew

Dear Avicii

I trust you are well?

So before I begin Tim - can I call you Tim? - I just want to tell you a little story so you have some of the background.

About a year ago I was having lunch in Oxford (you wont have heard of Oxford - it's a small city in the UK that doesn't have a venue or budget big enough to accommodate you) and although I can't remember the exact details of the dish I was eating, I do recall finding myself in the most terrifying situation as I began to choke on a piece of crispy bacon (ah yes there it is - it was a chicken and bacon with avocado salad - isn't that funny how one little word can prompt a full recall!!).

Anyway - there I was gasping for air and genuinely panicking that unless something was done swiftly - it would have been curtain call and fade to black for old Askew.
So just as my vision was fading to a blur and my colleague was hastily moving round behind me to give me the "big squeeze" - a track came on the restaurant speaker system which immediately caused me to wretch - producing just enough vomit to lubricate and dislodge the bacon obstruction. Alas I could breathe again!!!

My vision refocused, my colour returned and my pulse eventually evened out.

I asked one of handful of waiters that had gathered around our table "What is this track playing on your speakers"?

"Levels"

Now I know you get a lot of mail about how amazing your music is, but I bet you've never had anyone saying your music literally saved their life till now??

So there you have it Tim - I essentially owe you my life! If your music hadn't made me vomit - I possibly wouldn't be here today!

Now this all happened a while ago and I never intended on bringing it up (no pun intended) but then for some reason today I chanced across two separate articles about you that really pissed me off and I felt compelled to speak up in your defence.

The first was this Spin blog page - on which it said you were having writer's block and were now outsourcing the riff writing process to your fans?

http://www.spin.com/blogs/aviciis-brazen-new-trick-to-beat-writers-block/

Well bravo I say!!! It's about time you got those fuckers to do some work!

I googled it further and saw some negative feedback from fans who didn't seem up for contributing their creative input to assist the growth of your absurd wealth!!?? WTF??? Can you believe that!? Inconsiderate sons of bitches.

So far the relationship has been completely one sided in my view, so it's about time these so called "fans" start investing something other than just the extortionate amount of money they have to pay to see you "perform". I mean where do these guys get off?!! They have all the fun partying, jumping up and down and fist pumping (is that the correct terminology?? You'll have to excuse me I'm old and might have got some of the jargon wrong - you see "fist pumping" in my circle of friends refers to something that I'd be very surprised to see on the dancefloor of any gig - although I do recall being at Trade in Turnmills in London (a city who can afford you - just) one Sunday afternoon…….. brrrrr gives me shivers thinking about it……anyway where was I……. Oh yeah - so there they are - these so called like "fans" like having the time of their like lives and there you are like up there working your nuts off like pressing play on those like damn complicated CD players……… well let's just say I'm with you on this one buddy (Or perhaps this would be the appropriate time to use the word "bro" despite the fact we're in no way related? - wow listen to me - I'm all hip and cool suddenly!!)

And then - as if this fan problem wasn't enough - there's now this other article I saw today - in which a few of your fellow DJ chums had the audacity to question your alleged pre-recording or was it pre-rehearsing, or pre-analysing - either way it was something "pre" to do with your sets?

Bro (or would you rather I stick with Tim?) - I've got to tell you - screw those guys - they might think they're being all clever by actually learning how to DJ properly and spending their time crafting interesting, inspiring and unique sets "on the fly" - but who's going to have the last laugh when you gotta take a crap in the middle of your set huh? I don't know about you but I don't like rushing those "moments" so having a 78 minute long CD playing would help relieve some of the pressure of having to get back on stage quickly - and in doing so enable you to relax and take your time relieving the "other pressure".

Look - although I'm way too old and way too uncool to understand or like your records the point is this - if your music hadn't of been so truly nauseous I might not have been here today - so if any of these people bitchin' about you want to take this up a gear - I'm ready to go!

I've got your back all the way Bro!!

Your new best friend,

John Askew

Ps: If you are still having writer's block - don't worry - I've done some digging and found the perfect music (attached) - an absolute classic that is ready for you to add your genius in order to take it to new "Levels". Oh.......I just puked again.

"This was posted on facebook by John Askew himself"

[TRAP] Wakanda (Oh Snap vs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Remix) + Eric Robberts complaining about the EDM Scene & the music industry

Ok I need to complain about something, if you follow the EDM scene as I do, even if not as much, you will understand what I'm talking about. I will use the song/release "Wakanda" from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike for the example. The track was released on 2013-02-04. A lot of remixes and bootlegs came out since then and it was also the most played song at Miami Music Week.

We at Electrokill published a wicked Trap bootleg made by Clever Noise [First soundcloud player posted below the text] on March 1st 2013. Already on March 7th, Slander & 7deadlysynths dropped another bootleg [Second soundcloud player posted below the text] that I'm sure you will agree, is pretty similar.

Now, 3 months later, Mr. Vegas and Mr. Mike realized the trap remixes were dope and popular so they decided to do an almost identical remix (compare the drops and you'll see it's the same, of course they did some minor changes but overall...) and release it on beatport. Doesn't that suck? Shouldn't they give a chance to younger producers and officially release their remixes/bootlegs? Of course I know they own the rights, it's their song but I just find it wrong that they wait to see what the "kidz" will do with their song, see what works and then copy it and officially release it with Oh Snap!.

And networks on youtube are going nuts today "WOW that Wakanda remix is the s**t, so awesome, wicked, yeah!!!" when the exact same thing was released 3 months ago and they didn't use any of those adjectives because it wasn't "known" producers. That's all I had to complain about today, I hope you will get the point and if you have an opinion on the subject, I would be happy to hear it. *The Clever Noise bootleg is better anyways!"

[MOOMBAH] Lana Del Rey - Born To Die (Mr Strongg Remix) [EKM Exclusive]

Since Gemini's remix of this song, I've been in love with Lana Del Rey. However, this time the remix couldn't be more different. This remix combines Mr Strongg's tastes of Moombahton, dark electronic indie music (like early Gorrilaz tunes) and Spanish/classical vibes, a definite new combination for him (and for you too I'm sure!). Big ups to Mr. Strongg for this unique twist on this little gem.

A few words from Mr Strongg:

"I’ve always loved stories that start with something spontaneous and out of the blue. Something in the realm of, I got the idea of this remix from a Facebook message… literally. Well that’s exactly how this tune came to light.

I’m not saying that I wasn’t a Lana Del Rey fan before this remix came to mind, but I will say that it wasn’t the first thing on my mind as a new project to start. Trying to stay relevant with all the big room tunes coming out while staying original/keeping my artistic integrity has become harder each day. Luckily I’m able to still distance myself from what’s current by close friends schooling me on new things. Seeing The Great Gatsby and having my long time friend Lindsay school me on some Lana tunes, I knew that this was something I needed to take on.

I loved how this tune came out and I’m not going to waste time trying to explain my weirdness and the details of this track haha. Listen to it for yourself and let me know your thoughts :D

As always, stay awesome and thanks for listening"

G∆GE Presents - Steve Nice - Diversity EP

Who is Steve Nice you might ask? Steve is a producer that is from the NYC scene that has been doing his thing behind the decks and behind the console for years now. He started in the infamous rave scene of NYC in 1999, and graduated to doing his own original productions in early 2008. Now with the newly formed Groove Therapy Records he is ready to show what the title of his new EP really means. Very rarely will you find an artist with such diversity in his releases. Steve has done everything from Electro House, to Dubstep, and even Disco House tracks that have been heard in places like Webster Hall NYC, and Pacha NYC just to name a few. Every time the crowd welcomes his tracks with an over enthusiastic reaction. I could write all day about his accomplishments and accolades, but I would rather just show you what I am speaking about.

First off here is the previews for his new EP "Diversity" OUT WEDNESDAY JUNE 5th 2013 EXCLUSIVELY on BEATPORT through Groove Therapy Records.

Now here is one of my favorite tracks that Steve has touched putting the Steve Nice sound on a classic track from Aarmand Van Helden & DJ Sneak.

and finally a taste of how he gets down behind the wheels of steel that aired on TechnoHouse.fm!

[DISCO & HOUSE] Solidisco, Fatboy Slim, Daft Punk, Tim Gunter, Lana Del Rey, Cappa Regime, Kulkid, The Supertraxxe, Vato Gonzalez, FetOo, Whyte Night, Stop Television, Pleasurekraft, SurfDisco

How about some happy feel good vibes for the weekend? I don't know about you but personally I'm happy that the Nu Disco/Indie Dance music is taking more and more place on the EDM scene. It was already getting stronger before and now with Daft Punk's latest album "Random Access Memories" it's going to catapult this style to the top (or not too far from the top). Some songs in this dance compilation are more disco, some more House, some more Tech House but they all have something in common, groovy as fvck. Enjoy these free downloads and have a great weekend!
